"Starfish House" from South Africa, Ms. Amanda (Amanda de Lange) was founded, she came to Xi'an in 2004, Professor of English, and often volunteer in Xi'an Children's Welfare Institute.

September 2005, she and The orphanage in Xi'an signed an agreement to set up a foster care point - Starfish House. Starfish was founded to save those who need special help sick babies. By strengthening nutrition and create an atmosphere of love, so that the children back to health, then arrange for their operation, payment of medical expenses, and for postoperative care. Hou end of surgery, but also to find adoptive families to prepare, so that each child can emerge in a stable home full of love , these families usually the family overseas. Starfish House is responsible for providing archival material relating to children, to where they were adopted by the China Center of Adoption Affairs in Beijing decision.

After Ms. Amanda and several overseas volunteers two years of unremitting efforts, according to the U.S. 501 (c) 3 provisions of Act, in April 2007, "Starfish Children's Services" (Starfish Children's Services, SCS) Foundation finally United States incorporated. The tax code in the United States :20-4682916.

Earlier this year, Shaanxi Province, home of Red Cross agreed to accept donations on behalf of starfish, and the official receipt issued by legitimate. Since February 2009 has been home starfish the size of the rapid development of foster children increased from 20 to 50. From its inception, starfish foster home children totaled 92. 55 patients have completed surgery, 23 children have been adopted by overseas families. There are two families are waiting for adoption. "Starfish House" the dream is able to more treatment and rehabilitation of sick babies, the children grow up to provide a warm environment for the healthy growth of children, for those who bring more happiness and hope to orphans.

My busy day 2010-09-06

I am so sleepy and tired (local time was 2:30), maybe cause all today is heavy rainy.?

SO I did the following things today:

7:30 get up toilet, cleaning face, and helped 3.8 old daughter put on clothes after I got the right ones. Helped her wash face, hair dressing, and took her bag. I dressed up and we got to kindergarten together at 8:00

8:15 got in a very very very crowded Chinese bus (City loop #2)

8:45 Got to office and spent 8 hours there

17:40 I got the same bus back with same situations to the kindergarten to pick daughter up and we home at 18:00


18:00-18:30 I played with her , watched Sponge Bob, and saw their new book. and an English vedio

18:40 I cooked some seafood meat ball soup with mushroom and vege. Fried a dish of celery and onion and cucamber and pork. and some steamed bun

19:30 I had dinner with wife and daughter wth some TV

20:30 I started to chat a bit on ETSY. and was interupted times by daughter...gave up and until she was playing with her mother,

22:00 Went back to bed room to help her sleep, gave an endless story, she could not fall asleep she told me I guessed she had too much food.:(

23:00 She finally slept with her old ,milk feeder. not my story actually

00:10 I came back to my PC and chated until now I wrote this FB

Hello, everyone. I am Zhang from China- a paper artist.
I do papercut and some paintings.

As a child I started to learn these from my grand parents, Ileanrt cutting from grandma, and painting from grandpa. At that times,10 years ago, when they were still with me. They were teachers in an art school and spent their time in their last days on the art they are obssessed with. They lived on them, so it was actually a family business, they had a shop along the art street in downtown xi'an.

Well as time goes,thing changed. They passed away in same month when I thought I still didnt finish the "Course" 7 years ago. Now the family members are like scattered sands, busy with all so called "Careers" everywhere of the country/world. And cutting and paintings are not the family business anymore as no one would be able and like to carry it on, and as it's not so popular , especially in China. So few people like this old tradition anymore, especially among the young people.

I was very excited when I found ETSY in 18 Sep 2008. I have been trying to save this old and tradition art in my life at least to me.

Many people will ask
"Are they handcut"?
I tell now "All papercuts in shop were handmade by myself in my studing time and recent years"

"How long it may take for an average work".
Now I say for everage work 10 hours around. And they told me My prices are too low! Well I know its really too low for American standard.

So I would like to see more info of the market, and keep kinda same pace with them from the early MARCH.
